globesitters sets great value upon protection and security of the member data. globesitters is committed to comply to the swiss regulations about data protection.
2. collection of necessary data
in order to deliver the full service of globesitters as well as to sustain the network, it is necessary that globesitters collects, saves, processes, and uses the entrusted personal data in compliance to the data protection regulations. this only happens if you agree to the collection, storage, processing and usage of the personal data that occurs as a result of using the services and that is necessary to use the services. this can happen through globesitters as well as through other companies on behalf of globesitters. you agree to that by accepting the genereal terms and conditions. this happens during the registration process and is protocolled by globesitters.
globesitters is a portal to match care experts and families and that contains a network element. the network resp. the community page allows its members to make social connections and to communicate within the network. the network component is an important element in order to build up a trustworthy match-making community. like every network, globesitters is built on the concept that you as a member can provide limited information about yourself to the other members. to complement the mandatory data with further information is totally up to you. the information has to be correct as this is crucial for the functionality of a network like globesitters and the only way to enhance the service of the match-making portal through the personal component.
you know that other registered members can only see all your data of your profile if they are „connected“ to you. in order to protect your privacy, members without connection can only see a reduced selection of your personal data. you decide yourself with whom you want to be connected and not. if you wish to, you can also hide your personal data completely under your profile settings.
personal data is data, which contains information about personal circumstances and factual affairs of a certain member. in particular, during the registration process the following information is collected: last name, first name, street, city and zip code, telephone number, gender, email address and date of birth. in the course of buying a product/service, also account data can be collected in order to process the transaction.
globesitters uses your personal data, which you communicate either actively (e.g. during registration of your profile data) or indirectly through using the service (e.g. host name of the accessing computer, ip address, date and time of the particular access and if applicable your member id) for a safe realization of the chosen offer. furthermore, globesitters uses your data where applicable for the magazine, alerts, the newsfeed or other forms of communication within the network or recommending pages and in case of ratings through service providers.
if globesitters uses data for any purposes which, according to the law, require your agreement, globesitters will ask you explicitly for your agreement. you can revoke your already given agreement at any time resp. you can decline future usage of your data.
3. furher data usage
personal data is not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to realize the offered service. you have agreed to that beforehand or it is allowed because of respective legal regulations. while buying a product/service, the data that is necessary for the transaction is passed on to the according service provider chosen by the user.
the development and maintenance of the network is costly and should be covered partly by advertising revenues. on the basis of the created member profiles and the evaluation of the log-files, personalized advertising is presented to you. herby you agree to this. this means that advertising is presented to you, that is based on your member profile and therefore suits your individual interests as far as possible. all advertising is presented through the embedding on the globesitters website, via email to your email address, or through further forms of network communication (newsfeed, alerts, magazine, etc).
4. member profiles
in compliance to the legal regulations, globesitters is allowed to evaluate member profiles pseudonymously, thus anonymized, for the purpose of advertising, market research and improvement of the services. however, this is only done if you did not use your right to disagree with the usage of your data.
5. usage of cookies
a part of our services requires the usage of so-called cookies. globesitters uses those to individually organize and optimize your online time and experience. a cookie is a text file that is either saved temporarily in your computer storage (“session cookie“) or saved on your hard disk (“permanent cookie“). cookies are not used to run any programs or to load any viruses on to your computer. the main purpose of cookies is to provide you with a specially tailored offer and to organize the usage of a service as timesaving as possible. most of the browsers are set to accept cookies by default. however, you can change the settings of your browser so that cookies are not accepted at all or not before you give your explicit permission. if you choose not to accept cookies, some offers cannot work properly.
globesitters mostly uses „session cookies“ that are not saved on your hard disk and that are deleted from your computer when you close your browser. the session cookies are used for login authentication and for load-balancing.
futhermore, globesitters uses cookies if you access the operator’s services via an external advertising space. those cookies do not contain any personal data of you and are deleted automatically, when you log on to a globesitters website - otherwise they will be deleted automatically four weeks later.
globesitters uses "permanent" cookies to track click streams and to distinguish automatically if you already participated in a survey or if you have already seen an information or advertisement placed on the website - so that this will not be displayed again next time you visit the website.
6. data security
to protect the user from viruses and unauthorized external access as far as possible, globesitters uses up-to-date firewalls and other security systems. to guarantee this, globesitters is committed to maintain an adequate security level. globesitters is also committed to adjust the used security technologies to the current technical development. however, globesitters cannot guarantee a one hundred percent protection from virus attacks, due to the continuous and ongoing development of new viruses and other ways to attack protected data systems of web services.
globesitters is not responsible for virus protection outside the network, neither for damage to data through unknown viruses.
7. deletion, correction and inhibition of data
you have the right to view, correct, complete or delete your saved personal data and settings of your member account via your profile at any time. you also have the right to cancel your approval of collection and storage of further voluntary data by the operator at any time. in case of cancellation of storing and processing your personal data, globesitters is no longer able to provide you with its services and asks you to delete your profile. an application for modification, correction or deletion of your data is therefore not necessary.
you know that at today’s level of technology, data protection during a data transfer process on the internet cannot be fully guaranteed. thus, you are responsible for the security of data that you transmit to the internet.
8. information about personal data
every member has the right to get information from globesitters about their saved personal data for free. in the inquiry request the member has to explicitly name the kind of personal data he wants to get information about. the inquiry request has to be sent to the following address:

the member has to enclose a certified copy of his official and valid personal id. the information will be sent to the address that is named in the personal id.
9. changes of the privacy policy
globesitters always attempts to improve its offer, today and in the future. changes of the globesitters‘ offer can in particular cases lead to changes in its privacy policy and information. also changes in corresponding legal conditions can lead to necessary adjustments. therefore an up-to-date edition of the privacy policy can be consulted on the globesitters website at any time.
globesitters reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time, if globesitters becomes aware of gaps in this privacy policy or if changes become necessary due to improvements and alterations of the globesitters‘ offer. globesitters will inform you about all changes of this privacy policy electronically.
